Organic Solidarity

Émile Noël, creator of organic solidarity programmes

Sunflowers for an agricultural identity.

In 2003 Huilerie Émile Noël structured a French supply chain for organic sunflowers located in the Rhône valley and the central region.

There are 250 organic producers organised into seven cooperatives; together they farm 450 hectares to supply the oil mill with 650 tonnes of seed each year.

The programme has had the Organic Solidarity certification since its launch, having met the standards defined by Bio Partenaire which are backed by European regulations for organic agriculture.
After sunflower, other certified supply chains have also been developed for camelina and hemp.
