Emile Noël has been working in Kenya since 2010 alongside small avocado producers, with the aim of promoting their production in a fair and sustainable manner. Previously often sold through intermediaries, avocados are now purchased directly from producers, guaranteeing them a stable income and greater recognition for their work.

Avocados that are not suitable for consumption are processed into oil, which reduces waste and maximises the value of the entire harvest.

Since 2008, support has been provided in the field, including training in organic farming and fair trade, the provision of equipment, and technical support.

Today, the sector brings together more than 3,000 producers, 53% of whom are women. Certified BIOPARTENAIRE®, it is based on strong commitments to fair, responsible and solidarity-based organic farming.

Created in 2006, the argan industry in Morocco helps to improve the living conditions of rural Moroccan women, as this product is traditionally harvested by women.

The creation of this industry by Emile Noël allows us to commit to this cause. We invest in financing projects by creating a diversity of income for women while preserving education programmes (literacy, pre-school education).

Emile Noël Guinea was founded in 2018 with the aim of guaranteeing access to high-quality raw materials. Aware of the importance of local and sustainable production, we decided to set up an oil mill directly in Guinea, in the heart of the regions where avocados are grown. This initiative aims not only to promote local agricultural wealth, but also to support the regional economy by creating jobs. As a result, around ten people now work at this oil mill.

This choice reflects our commitment to promoting a more equitable and responsible economic model that fully benefits local stakeholders while ensuring the quality of the finished products. Through this approach, Emile Noël Guinea actively contributes to the sustainable development of the Guinean agricultural sector, while strengthening its ties with producer communities.

In 2008, Emile Noël joined forces with Agrosourcing to develop its hazelnut sector in Turkey. This partnership has resulted in an increase in the number of hazelnut producers, enabling a more effective response to growing demand.

It allows producers to sustain their farms in an increasingly complicated context with uncontrollable and increasingly frequent climatic events.

We invest in financing projects by creating a Happy Village programme: a drinking water reservoir in Bekirler, a seasonal workers' hostel in Akmagara, Akkoy, we finance organic inputs for hazelnut trees, a frost protection system for apricot trees, equipment for drying and storing dried fruit, and silos for the free storage of hazelnuts.

Mali occupies a special place in Emile Noël's history, as it was one of the first countries to welcome a sector dedicated to sesame seed cultivation. This historic collaboration, based on relationships of trust with local producers, laid the foundations for a lasting and committed partnership.

In order to strengthen and perpetuate these ties forged over time, we created the Emile Noël Mali Foundation in 2014. The mission of this local organisation is to support farming communities, structure trade and guarantee high-quality support in accordance with the principles of organic farming.

Today, 13 people work for the foundation. They monitor agricultural activities, supervise producers and organise regular training sessions. Their role is also to ensure compliance with organic farming specifications, in order to guarantee the quality and traceability of the seeds produced.

Since 2020, Emile Noël has been developing an organic sesame sector in Guinea, combining sustainability, social impact and agricultural performance.

Supported by committed rural communities, the project is backed by solid support: seed distribution, equipment supply and training in organic farming practices (soil management, crop rotation, harvesting techniques, etc.).

In three years, the sector has trained and supported nearly 1,500 producers in Kindia, Kankan and Dabola, covering more than 2,500 hectares.

The programme's growth from 460 producers in 2023 to nearly 2,000 in 2025 illustrates its local roots and its structuring effect on the economies of the villages concerned.

Organic sesame is becoming a concrete lever for creating sustainable jobs, strengthening agricultural skills and supporting fairer production models.

HEN and DEG Impulse are cooperating within the framework of the develoPPP support programme, implemented by DEG Impulse on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
